Fun games for your kids during your hotel stay

Bonjour Travellers!
Staying in a hotel during the holidays can be a fun and exciting experience for children.
However, it can also be challenging to keep them entertained and occupied, especially when
outdoor activities are limited. In this article, I’ll explore some creative and safe games for
children to play while staying in a hotel during the holiday season.
Catch some games I prepared for you:

Scavenger Hunt
A scavenger hunt is a great way to get children moving and exploring the hotel. You can
create a list of items that children can find in the hotel, such as a hotel keycard, a menu from
the hotel restaurant, or a business card from the hotel front desk. Ensure that children are
supervised at all times and that the items on the list are safe and appropriate for their age.

Board Games and Card Games
Board games and card games are classic activities that are perfect for indoor entertainment.
Pack a selection of age-appropriate games in your luggage, such as Monopoly, Scrabble, or
Uno. These games are great for family bonding and can be enjoyed by all ages.

Stickers
Sounds easy? Thatโ€™s great, because this game is super simple. All you need to do is to prepare
some stickers before your holiday so you can have fun at the hotel room without a big effort.
With cute and friendly animal stickers, this game is sure to be a hit with any toddler! From
my experience I can advise you to play with stickers in the following way: you tell your
toddler part of your body and he/she has to match it up! As they play, they’ll develop their
cognitive and fine motor skills while having fun with colorful stickers.

Room Decorations
Decorating the hotel room can be a fun and creative activity for children. You can bring along
some holiday-themed decorations, such as ornaments, lights, or tinsel, and let your children
decorate the room. Ensure that the decorations are safe and non-damaging to the hotel
property.

Movie Night
Many hotels offer in-room movie rentals or have a selection of movies available for guests.
You can make movie night extra special by bringing along some snacks, such as popcorn or
candy, and having a cozy family movie night in the hotel room. Ensure that the movie
selection is age-appropriate and that children are supervised while using the remote control.

Puzzles and Coloring Books
Puzzles and coloring books are great activities that promote creativity and cognitive
development. You can bring along some age-appropriate puzzles and coloring books for your
children to enjoy during their downtime in the hotel room. These activities are perfect for
keeping children entertained while also encouraging them to use their problem-solving and
fine motor skills.

Make Your Own Snacks
Making your own snacks is a fun and creative activity that children can enjoy during their
stay in the hotel. You can bring along some ingredients, such as pretzels, chocolate chips, or
dried fruit, and let your children create their own snack mix. Ensure that children are
supervised when using any kitchen equipment, such as a microwave or mini-fridge.

Balloon Games
Balloons are a versatile and inexpensive item that can be used for a variety of games and
activities. You can bring along some balloons and play games such as balloon volleyball,
balloon toss, or balloon keep-up. Ensure that children are supervised when playing with
balloons and that they do not swallow or inhale any parts of the balloon.

Pictionary
Pictionary is a classic game that is both fun and safe for children. It encourages creativity,
imagination, and communication skills. All you need is a whiteboard or paper, markers, and a
list of things to draw. Children can take turns drawing while others guess what they’re
drawing.

Simon Says
Simon Says is a game that encourages children to follow instructions and use their listening
skills. To make the game safe, ensure that the instructions are age-appropriate and easy to
follow. You can use actions such as “touch your nose” or “hop on one foot” to keep children
engaged and active.

Bubbles
So simple and so so so useful! Believe us, we tested soap bubbles many times before and it
always used to work. I think we do not have to explain how to play with bubbles as I am
pretty sure we all played with it in our childhood ๐Ÿ™‚

In conclusion, staying in a hotel during the holidays can be a fun and exciting experience for
children. With a little creativity and planning, parents can provide their children with a
variety of safe and engaging activities to keep them entertained while staying in the hotel
room. By incorporating some of the games and activities listed above, parents can ensure that
their children have a memorable and enjoyable holiday stay in the hotel.

Good luck!
